Diamond Ring Shopping: A Man’s Guide

Suppose you have a girlfriend. Suppose she likes you and vice versa. Suppose you’ve been dating a while and you feel that maybe it’s the right time to propose. Suppose you are in love. Or just want to get a nice gift; Welcome to A man’s guide on how to satisfy your woman without letting her know or asking her any questions on the subject.

First off, you got to know your budget. Once you got that figured out, then is the time to start looking. Whether online or in a store, there are 3 main types of stones for rings; Diamond, Moissanite, and other gemstones.

Diamonds come from the ground while Moissanite is lab-made. Other types of gemstones are also formed in the ground but some gems are synthetic.

Things you should know:

There are 4 c’s when it comes to buying diamonds; Cut, Color, Clarity, and Carat. The cut is imperative when buying a diamond. A good cut diamond gives it life or ‘brilliance’. The color is important as well especially when copping a white diamond, as any colored tint will lower the value on the stone. The clarity is most important because any noticeable inclusions can ruin the beauty of the stone and ring in general. You want a good, clean, vibrant stone before looking at size, etc. Lastly, is the carat. The carat is the size of the stone you choose and that will depend on one’s budget. Please note; a bigger stone does not necessarily mean better or nicer.

The same 4 c’s apply to moissanite and gemstone as well. Moissanite stones will have white kinda things inserted into the stones to cover up any visible flaws. Gemstones are made from forms of different minerals that combine heat and/or compressions.

Colored gemstones are pocket-friendly. The prices are very affordable and can be easily purchased. Moissanites are more expensive but not more than diamonds.

If you have money to spend and you want to propose for marriage, go with a diamond. Diamond is diamond and no one can take away its beauty. Moissanite is a great option though, as the prices are LOW compared to a diamond and the quality and looks from the naked eye are barely noticeable.

In the end, your budget determines the type of gem you are getting for your woman. Some sellers can give you high-quality gemstones for a fraction of the cost. All you need to do is patiently search.
